Amy Hardingham creates theatre that is transformative, meaningful and inventive. 

Amy is passionate about creating participatory, immersive, site-specific and socially-engaged performance. Much of Amy’s work has been created in collaboration with professional and emerging artists from various disciplines, and in response to the needs and concerns of specific communities, through Outback Theatre for Young People, Australian Theatre for Young People, and Tantrum Youth Arts. 

As well as devised work, Amy values new Australian writing. She has directed plays by writers including Alana Valentine, Tom Holloway, Van Badham and Lachlan Philpott, and has produced work by Tommy Murphy.

 

Amy is committed to making work that is engaging and relevant for young audiences. In 2018 she was Assistant Director to Rosie Dennis on Talkshow: Hypothetical for Urban Theatre Projects/ Way Out West Children's Festival, and was selected by Erth to take part in a week-long Masterclass with renowned Italian theatre maker Chiara Guidi on her avant garde children's work Terra dei Lombrichi.

In 2019 Amy co-directed Bell Shakespeare's production of Macbeth for school students at the Sydney Opera House/ Arts Centre Melbourne, and directed April Aardvark by Nathaniel Moncrieff for
Australian Theatre for Young People
