Amy has worked with hundreds of children, young people and emerging artists in schools, workshops and on collaborative projects in a diverse range of communities and contexts.  

 

In 2020, Amy joined the NSW Department of Education as a full time Drama teacher. Amy currently teaches Drama at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts.

Amy has lectured in contemporary performance and collaborative theatre-making practises at the University of Newcastle. A qualified Secondary Drama teacher, Amy teaches in a range of areas including group devising skills for the HSC, verbatim and documentary theatre, script writing, and video-making. 

 

As a Company Director at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts Amy has worked as the lead artist with selected company of students to devise, script and stage an original production. In 2010 she adapted Bustown by Lachlan Philpott with the Year 12 Company, in 2017 she wrote and directed Talisman for the Year 7 Company, and in 2018 she developed a Documentary Theatre work about Ke$ha's legal battle with Sony Records with the Year 10 Company. 
 

Amy has worked extensively as a teaching artist on a diverse range of theatre, writing and video programs with young people aged 6-26 through Outback Theatre for Young People, Tantrum Youth Arts, Australian Theatre for Young People and the Sydney Opera House Creative Leadership in Leadership program.
